St. Patrick’s Celebration

Games and Fun

Family Fun has a bunch of great crafts to try out

Find a big stone and make a sign that says “Our Blarney Stone” for all your guests to kiss.

Do a treasure hunt!  The legends are filled with Leprechauns and pots of gold, so hide some chocolate coins for your guests to find.  It’s great fun for all ages.

Here are a couple drinking games for our drinking friends (drink in moderation!)

Go green!  Green plates, white utensils, green or white bowls.  For a pop of color, include a bit of orange.  Green M & M’s, jelly beans, sugar cookies, the works!  (Watch out for allergies to food coloring though!)

Be inspired by the shamrock!  They are great for food, decorations, place settings and more. Gold coins, pots of gold, Leprechauns, Lucky Charms and other bits of Irish humor can add a lot of personality to your party!

Martha Stewart has lots of ideas for flowers, place settings, and pins.

Better Homes and Gardens has ideas including a Celtic inspired tablecloth, candles, and centerpieces.

There are lots of great Irish recipes and foods you can celebrate with, don’t forget the potatoes!

Raisin Scones

Irish Soda Bread

Guinness and Onion Soup

Roasted Cabbage and Apples

Potato Pancakes

Shepherd’s Pie

Vegetable Shepherd’s Pie

Corned Beef

  1. I just love this holiday. It’s as big as Christmas at our house. We’re all red headed Irish people. We even have a St. Pats Tree. Got it at Christmas. Kelly green was perfect and we hang St. Pats ornaments on it.
